The legendary Virat Kohli's statue was unveiled in Jaipur at the city’s wax museum on Thursday, April 18. On World Heritage Day, the former India captain was immortalized with a mesmerising statue, weighing 35 kg.

Kohli's statue took around two months to be completely sculpted. The museum, located on Nahargarh Fort premises, already contains 44 wax statues, including ones of former India captains and iconic cricketers - MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar.

“They (tourists) had a strong opinion that Kohli’s statue should be in the museum. The wax statue was unveiled today on World Heritage Day,” Anoop Srivastava was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Prominent personalities from various fields have statues at the museum. Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, APJ Abdul Kalam, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Kalpana Chawala, Amitabh Bachchan and Mother Teresa are some of the statues that can be seen at the location.

How has Virat Kohli fared in IPL 2024?

Kohli has been the epitome of consistency so far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Delhi batter has amassed 361 runs from seven innings at a staggering average of 72.20 and a strike rate of 147.35. He has hit 35 fours and 14 sixes so far. Kohli has registered two half-centuries and his eighth IPL ton came in a losing cause against Rajasthan Royals. While some have criticised him for slowing down after getting starts, others have defended him by highlighting the lack of support he has got from the other Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batters.

While Kohli is on top of the Orange Cap list, the Royal Challengers are languishing at the foot of the points table in the 17th edition of the IPL. Faf du Plessis and Co. have only one win and six losses after playing seven games. They are set to face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday, April 21 and will be desperate to get back to winning ways after suffering five defeats on the trot.
