Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler in the world: Ollie Robinson

Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been marvellous in the first two Test matches against England. The 30-year-old has picked up 15 wickets and with that, he is currently the leading wicket-taker in the series. Notably, the conditions weren’t in favour of the pacers in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam but the cricketer proved his worth by delivering significant contributions for the team.

Speaking about his consistency and ability, England pacer Ollie Robinson called him the ‘best bowler in the world’. Notably, in the second Test of the five-match series, Bumrah bowled an unplayable yorker to Ollie Pope, which heavily impressed Robinson. The England seamer revealed that he was talking to James Anderson after the Visakhapatnam Test and stated that it was really special to see him bowl so well in these conditions.

“Jasprit Bumrah has been crazy good. I must have said, ‘This bloke’s the best bowler in the world,’ ten times in Vizag,” Robinson was quoted as saying by Wisden.

“The way he got Popey out, I was like, ‘Oh my, this guy’s a joke.’ And then he got Foakesy out with a slower ball and I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, can this guy get any better? You watch him and you think, ‘Wow, he’s good.’ And as a bowler – me and Jimmy were speaking about it and after the last game – to watch him ply his trade in India is really special because we’re always striving to put on a performance like that in these conditions,” the Kent-born pacer added.

Hopefully I’ll get my chance at some point: Robinson

England Pacer Ollie Robinson also called Jasprit Bumrah an extraordinary cricketer and noted that he is learning from the Ahmedabad-born cricketer on how to bowl in these conditions. Meanwhile, Robinson is yet to play a match in the ongoing Test series, as Mark Wood and James Anderson were picked ahead of him in the series so far. However, the pacer mentioned that he is ready and hoping to get an opportunity soon.

“I’m raring to go if Ben knocks on my door and says I’m in for the next Test,” he said. “I’ve been training as hard as ever. Hopefully, I’ll get my chance at some point,” Robinson concluded.
