Jasprit Bumrah lacked confidence, had an awkward bowling action, but is now a legend in all three formats: Ramiz Raja
Jasprit Bumrah received rich praise from Ramiz Raja following his heroics in the T20 World Cup 2024, which earned India their second T20 World Cup title.
Ramiz Raja extolled Jasprit Bumrah after the Indian pacer's stupendous performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. The former Pakistan cricketer hailed Bumrah as an all-format legend.
Ramiz was speaking about the gradual labefaction of Pakistan's seam-bowling resources when he digressed a little and mentioned the outstanding improvement of Bumrah. The right-arm pacer played a massive role in India's triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, as he finished with 15 wickets in eight games at a surreal average of 8.27 and an impressive economy rate of 4.18. He was adjudged Player of the Tournament for his sensational performance.
"In my book, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats. There is no one greater who has played all three formats. (To aap dekh rahe hai, ek ladka kaha se utha hai, usme confidence nahi tha, uska awkward bowling action hai) So you can see, where this boy came from, he lacked confidence, had an awkward bowling action," Ramiz said on his YouTube channel.
"He was unfit, but he came back, and now he has made India win the World Cup," the cricketer-turned-commentator added.

After the Men in Blue beat South Africa to win the T20 World Cup final on June 29, three stalwarts of Indian Cricket - Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja - retired from T20Is. Upon returning to India, Bumrah was asked about his retirement plans. However, the 30-year-old gave a delightful update for Indian fans, saying that he won't be considering retirement anytime soon.
"It's (my retirement) a long way away. I have just started. Hopefully, it is far away now," the Ahmedabad-born seamer said.
