Former BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, has been appointed the International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman. It is worth noting that Shah was elected as the chairman unequivocally and has become one of the few Indians to hold the position. With the 35-year-old creating buzz all around, the talks around his net worth are hot topics.

According to Times Now, the former secretary of the richest cricket board in the world has a net worth of INR 124 crore. Shah will commence his chairmanship from December 1, 2024 after replacing Greg Barclay.

“I want to assure you that I will do everything possible to elevate the standard of our game across the globe. As I step into this pivotal role, I am resolutely committed to meeting your high expectations and dedicating myself to the beautiful game of cricket,” said Shah through an official BCCI statement.

Apart from the veteran’s earnings from cricket, he was also the director at Temple Enterprise, an import and export company of agricultural commodities. The report further adds that he also holds a 60% stake in Kusum Finserve. Notably, the BCCI officials do not have a monthly salary, but rather, a daily allowance. The fees could be anywhere between 40,000 rupees per day to 80,000 in case of meetings take place overseas.

Meanwhile, with cricket being included in the Olympics in the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics 2028 marks the inception of history. Shah, holding the coveted position at ICC will be hoping to reap further benefits for the sport globally and to catalyse the fervour back in India.
