England is all set to square off against Pakistan in a seven-match T20I series in the Asian nation as a preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. On their arrival, skipper Jos Buttler has pledged to donate separately to the Pakistan families that have been hit by the catastrophic floods in the country. The T20I series starts on September 20 and this will be the first visit for an England side to Pakistan in 17 years' time.

In tough times of the country in terms of economy and the floods, Buttler noted about his desire to help the country with any kind of donation as a little effort from the ECB side. He also has called for support from the England team and the ECB members to take note of the difficult times in Pakistan and make any kind of contribution.

We would all encourage anyone who is able to support this cause to do so: ECB Board

Buttler who replaced Eoin Morgan as the captain of the England T20I side, mentioned about the pain that Pakistan had to undergo through the floods. He noted about making donations that will be matched by ECB and the board confirmed that the money would go into the DEC emergency appeal. The board was quite welcome to volunteers who could contribute and was delighted to match the player’s donation.

"Pakistan suffered floods and we can feel their pain. We are happy to be here for cricket in this tough time. As a team, we will make donations which will be matched by the ECB to make a little effort from our side," Jos Buttler was quoted as saying by the International News.

“The money will go to the DEC emergency appeal, and we would all encourage anyone who is able to support this cause to do so. The ECB has been happy to match the player’s donation,” the board said in a statement.
