'Jos Buttler's captaincy was excellent' - Michael Vaughan after India crush England 4-1

"I think Jos Buttler's captaincy has been excellent in this series. He's been creative, and it is a different style of captaincy that we have seen from Jos in white-ball cricket," Vaughan said.

England were thrashed in the five-match T20I series against India as they were subjected to severe batterings on either side of their 29-run win in Rajkot in the third T20I. Eventually, the Jos Buttler-led side went down 4-1.

Former English skipper, Michael Vaughan, complimented the brand of captaincy from Buttler's end despite the manner in which the visitors were dismantled.

"I think Jos Buttler's captaincy has been excellent in this series. He's been creative, and it is a different style of captaincy that we have seen from Jos in white-ball cricket. And also in the way that he is speaking now, it is great for us in the media because he is going to bring a line or two from now on," Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

He'd be more than happy to throw a few lines out to the press: Buttler

Vaughan also alluded to the concussion substitute saga which unfolded in the game in the fourth T20I.

"I like it. I think what Jos is going to bring with his relationship with [coach] Baz McCullum is a little bit more on the frontfoot chat. I think he'd be more than happy to throw a few lines out to the press, which is great. England were hard done to in the last game, I don't care what anybody says. But, they still had enough to win that game," he added.

England suffered their heaviest defeat in the final game of the series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After electing to field first, Buttler and Co. got crushed by Abhishek Sharma's blitz, as India went on to amass 247 on the board on the back of his 54-ball 135. What was expected to be a high-octane run-chase turned out to be anything but that, as the visitors were bundled out for a paltry 97. They will now head into the three-match ODI series, scheduled to commence in Nagpur on February 6.
