'Justice for Sarfaraz Khan' - Netizens fume following Sarfaraz Khan's non-selection for India's tour of West Indies
India will take on the West Indies in a multi-format series starting July 12.
The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) announced India’s Test and ODI squad for the upcoming West Indies tour on Friday, June 23. It is worth noting that India will be facing the West Indies in a multi-format series that is scheduled to begin on July 12.
Firstly, India will face the Windies in a two-match Test series, followed by three ODI matches and the tour will culminate with five T20I matches. As the BCCI announced the Test and ODI squads of team India for the tour, there are many players who have made their return to the fold and some new faces have made their way into the set-up too.
The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have made their way into the Test squad, whereas Sanju Samson and Mukesh Kumar have been named in the ODI squad. However, fans were left flabbergasted after the 25-year-old Sarfaraz Khan was not included in the Test squad for the series.
Many fans took to Twitter to express their frustration towards the BCCI as Sarfaraz Khan once again missed out on making his potential debut for the Indian team. Despite having a great season in first-class cricket, Sarfaraz's non-selection angered many netizens.
India look to come back from heartbreaking WTC loss
Team India will be looking to put its heartbreaking loss in the recently held final of the World Test Championship behind, where it took on Pat Cummins-led Australia at The Oval in London from June 7 to June 11.
As India looked to chase down a target of 444 runs in the second innings, the side crumbled under Australia’s relentless bowling attack and lost their second consecutive WTC final.
They would be keen to improve their performance when they take on the West Indies next in the multi-format series. After a heartbreaking loss in the summit clash of the World Test Championship, the Indian team would be geared up and ready to get back into action once again.
