Former South Africa pacer and commentator, Dale Steyn believes that the dynamic duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje can help South Africa win their maiden T20 World Cup title in 2022. In Proteas’ last match against Bangladesh, the duo scalped a total of five wickets and absolutely demolished the Bangladesh batting lineup to help the team win the match by a whopping 104 runs.

Given that the tournament is being played in Australia, the speedsters are likely to cause more damage as the pitches there often provide extra pace and bounce to help the bowlers dictate the game. As per Steyn, this is one such factor that can play a huge role as the Temba Bavuma-led side aims to lift the trophy on November 13 at Melbourne.

“Rabada is the leader of the South African attack. I am hoping South Africa can go on and win this World Cup and him doubling up with Anrich Nortje as my other fast bowler from South Africa, think the two of them in combination are just fantastic," Steyn was quoted as saying by ICC.

“They have got great pace, they have got good skill, especially in Australia. Rabada seems to be up a level whenever he gets to Australia, so am looking for that competitive streak to come out of him, and the two of them can go on and help South Africa to win this World Cup,” the 39-year-old added.

If England are going all the way, Mark Wood is going to take them there: Dale Steyn

While revealing his dream fast bowling line-up from the T20 World Cup, former Proteas speedster Dale Steyn ranked Mark Wood third in the list after the pair of Rabada and Nortje. Showering praises on the English bowler, the 39-year-old called Wood to be his favorite bowler from England.

“Mark Wood is a favourite of mine from England. I saw him the other night and he said to me he's going to bowl well. I think he's the first fast bowler to bowl all 24 balls in his spell of four overs over 140 kilometres an hour. He didn't look to bowl one slower ball, he’s just absolutely fantastic. He wants to rush batters, bowls a great yorker and a fantastic bouncer, and I think if England are going to go all the way, Mark Wood’s going to take them there,” Steyn said.

The former pacer from South Africa also picked Mitchell Starc of Australia and Shaheen Shah Afridi of Pakistan to complete the list of his top five bowlers in ongoing T20 World Cup.
