Kagiso Rabada becomes fastest to reach 300 Test wickets in fewest balls
Rabada became the third-fastest South African to reach the figure in terms of matches played.
South Africa star pacer, Kagiso Rabada has joined the elite list of bowlers with the fewest balls taken for 300 Test wickets. He surpassed the greats to become the top bowler in the list. He took 11817 balls to reach the figure surpassing the previously first-positioned former Pakistan pacer, Waqar Younis, who had achieved the feat in 12602 balls.
In the list of top four bowlers, there are two other South African pacers namely Daled Steyn and Alan Donald. They reached the 300 wickets mark in 12605 and 13672 balls respectively. Rabada cleaned up Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Raheem and claimed him as his 300th scalp in Tests. He became the third-fastest South African to reach the figure in terms of matches played.

The 29-year-old is currently playing against Bangladesh in the first Test at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. He also became the sixth South African pacer to reach the 300-wicket mark and the third fastest in the elite list. His strike rate of 39.3 is the highest among the 38 bowlers who have breached the 300 wickets mark, the former South Africa pace sensation, Dale Steyn follows in second place at 42.3.
