Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket as he took to his social media account to convey the development. Jadhav debuted for India in June 2014 against Bangladesh in the ODI series. He has since played 73 ODIs for team India and has amassed 1389 runs at an average of 42.09 with six half-centuries and two tons. He played his last international game for India on February 8, 2020.

His T20 career was short-lived as he featured in just nine games. In six T20I innings, he scored 122 runs at an average of 20.33 with the highest score being 58 runs. He was a handy bowler in the middle for the team and picked 27 wickets in ODIs. After being overlooked by the Indian team with the emergence of players like Suryakumar Yadav and spinning all-rounder Axar Patel, he had to make way for the younger lot.

“Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,” Jadhav wrote in his Instagram post.

Jadhav’s sporadic cricketing career

Jadhav was termed the natural T20 player due to his domestic circuit exploits. It was evident when he was drafted into the Delhi Daredevils squad for Indian Premier League 2008-9. He made a blistering 50 in just 29 balls and grabbed eyeballs. He was then signed by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2016.

Playing for India he scored a magnificent century against Zimbabwe when India toured them in 2015. He was again inducted into the squad for the Zimbabwe tour in 2016 but did not get to bat in the whole series. His full-fledged involvement with the team came when he was the mainstay in the five-match ODI series against New Zealand in 2016. He was also part of India’s squad for the Champions Trophy in 2017.
