The ODI World Cup 2023 is looming right around the corner, with the tournament all set to begin on October 5, and various sides are hard at work as they gear up to put in their best performances in the marquee event.
Completely hosted by India, every fan will have their eyes set on team India as the side prepares to break their ICC curse and potentially go all the way in the tournament to bring the trophy home after more than 12 years.
Ahead of the competition, star Indian batter KL Rahul was seen working hard as he practised his wicket-keeping skills. The 31-year-old was captured practising by keeping a tyre in front of the stumps to block his vision even further. The picture of the moment has been doing the rounds all over social media.

KL Rahul’s form could prove to be key for India in World Cup
It is worth noting that ace batter KL Rahul could be a key player for India in the upcoming World Cup 2023. Rahul sustained an injury in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and was out of contention for quite a few months.
Despite the major setback, the 31-year-old made a sensational comeback and scored a brilliant century against Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023. Furthermore, with his selection in team India’s World Cup squad, Rahul will be keen on putting in his best performances in their quest to go all the way in the competition.
Notably, team India will begin their World Cup campaign by taking on Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Currently, the team is competing in warm-up matches for the tournament. India were scheduled to play against England for their first warm-up game on Saturday, September 30. However, due to rain playing spoilsport, the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Before their campaign for the World Cup begins, India will be taking on the Netherlands in their final warm-up game on Tuesday, October 3.
