Lucknow Super Giants released their captain KL Rahul ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction. During the last edition of the competition, the keeper-batter had an intense chat with owner Sanjiv Goenka after the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad and that is believed to have impacted their relationship. The duo later met in Kolkata to solve the differences before eventually parting ways.

Rahul will now be available in the mega-auction and former captain Sourav Ganguly expects him to find a good team that values his worth. He noted that might have been added pressure on Rahul after his fallout with Goenka and added that the player has to speak for himself and then put everything behind him. He also highlighted that every player goes through ups and downs in their career and the 32-year-old is no different.

“He has to speak to himself. He has to speak to himself and say, just put everything behind. Ups and downs are part and parcel of sports. Confidence will go up and down. You have to bring it back by working hard in the nets. I know he has gone through a lot. Lucknow Super Giants have released him. I do not know whether they will buy him back in the auction. I am sure he will find a good team and get his worth in the IPL. But these things put pressure on players," Ganguly said while speaking to Revsportz.

Youngster Dhruv Jurel has done a commendable job for India A in the unofficial Test against Australia A. He made 80 and 68 runs respectively in two innings in Melbourne and following that, many former cricketers asked the team management to consider Jurel for the opening Test against Australia in Perth. Ganguly commented the same and stated the 22-year-old should bat in the middle.

“I think so and play Dhruv Jurel in the middle,” Ganguly added.
