Kohli, Faf and Smriti present RCB's new jersey to Alan Walker at unbox event

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) unveiled their new jersey ahead of the IPL 2024 during the RCB Unbox event on Tuesday, March 19 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Famous DJ and music producer Alan Walker was also present during the ceremony as Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Smriti Mandhana presented him with RCB’s new match kit with his name on the back of it.
As compared to the previous season, the upper half of the jersey has been changed from black to blue adding a new texture to RCB’s colours. Notably, the franchise organized a star-studded ceremony for the fans with performances from artists such as Raghu Dixit, Neeti Mohan, Alan Walker and several others.

The ceremony began with the RCB women’s team being given a guard of honour by the men’s team for their recent Women’s Premier League triumph. The Smriti Mandhana-led side beat Delhi Capitals women by eight wickets to clinch the trophy in the second edition of the tournament.
The WPL champions did a victory lap at the venue being cheered by the Bengaluru crowd who ecstatically celebrated the franchise’s first-ever title victory. Captain Mandhana, Renuka Singh Thakur, local girl Shreyanka Patil and all other team members were seen jubilant waving to the fans in the stands jumping with joy.

Members of the men’s team such as captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli also arrived on the ground during the jersey launch and addressed the fans ahead of the 17th edition of the IPL. Notably, RCB will start their captain against the southern rivals Chennai Super Kings on Friday, March 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The Faf du Plessis-led side will look to start their campaign with a win and aim to finish in the top four after failing to qualify for the playoffs in the previous season.
