The Kiwi ace pacer, Kyle Jamieson, is aiming to make a comeback to the New Zealand team after being out of action for seven long months. He wanted to make his return to the white-ball series against Pakistan and India but that hasn’t been the case. He has now set his eyes on the upcoming England Test series and will be seen playing in the Super Smash to get match-ready for the red-ball series.

The clash between the Auckland Aces and the Wellington Firebirds at Eden Park Outer Oval will mark the 28-year-old’s domestic comeback. Now, even though the England series is his target, he left the decision of his return to the New Zealand management.

“I've been out of the game for seven months, so I think if I look too far ahead it'll be a little bit silly. I'm very much just trying to play tomorrow and then if we get through tomorrow, we'll play Sunday," the speedster said.

"I'm just trying to keep that mindset. It's obviously the goal to be back in that environment at some stage, but as to when that may be, we'll let [Black Caps' coach Gary Stead] and co decide that,” Jamieson said as quoted by stuff.co.nz.

Now, even if Jamieson manages to get an opportunity in the red-ball series against England, he will have no time to prepare himself. He hasn’t bowled much with the red or pink ball lately, and that’s remains to be a concern. Thus, there’s a probability he lines up for New Zealand XI against the tourists in Hamilton the week before the first Test on February 16.

In case he fails to make it to the England series, it is expected that the pacer will definitely feature in the series against Sri Lanka, starting March 9. Meanwhile, Jamieson revealed that he is bowling a lot of overs in the nets and feels comfortable with where his body is.

“I've been bowling a huge amount of overs. I feel pretty comfortable with where my body is at and I've spent a lot of time with Bondy as well, using those overs in terms of building back up, but also trying to develop skills and trying to improve my game,” he concluded.
