Team India is all set to take on Bangladesh in a multi-format series; both sides will kick off their series with two Test matches and will finish it up with three T20I matches. The first Test of the series will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19. The second test of the same series will be held at Green Park in Kanpur on September 27.
With the start of the series looming around the corner, star India batter Sarfaraz Khan recently came forward and lauded skipper Rohit Sharma for his ability to not treat anyone in the squad as a junior. It is worth noting that Sarfaraz Khan played his first Test for India against England earlier this year.
Highlighting Rohit Sharma’s influence on himself and the side, Sarfaraz Khan compared the veteran skipper to the Bollywood movie ‘Lagaan’. He compared the movie’s protagonist, Aamir Khan, to Rohit Sharma and how he brings the team together.

"He's very different, makes you comfortable, and is like an elder brother to us. I enjoy playing with him. He never treats you like a junior. He's a positive guy. The way he speaks, it boosts your confidence," Sarfaraz Khan told JioCinema.
"Lagaan is my favourite movie. In that, the way Aamir Khan assembles his team, Rohit bhai, reminds me of that. For me, he's Lagaan's Aamir Khan. It feels like he's part of your family,” he added.
The upcoming Test series will be the very first Test assignment for new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Under Gambhir, India last took on Sri Lanka in a white-ball series, and the fans are eager to know how the side will fare in the longest format under Gambhir’s coaching.
As for India’s squad, under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant will make his comeback into the Test side after a long halt. He did not play for many months due to being involved in a life-threatening car accident in December 2022. Furthermore, the two Tests against Bangladesh would also prove crucial in India’s quest to reach their third straight World Test Championship final.
