South Africa Women’s skipper Laura Wolvaardt returned to the number one spot in the Womens ODI rankings. The incredible 25-year-old batter delivered consistent performances and topped the charts with her consistent performances in 2024. The star opening batter looks in great form of late.
The South Africa Women are currently playing an ODI series against the England Women with the series currently levelled with one more match remaining. The best batter for South Africa so far has been their skipper and opening batter Laura Wolvaardt who has scored 94 runs. She is currently one of the top batters in the ODI format and had also led the side to the finals of the Women's T20 World Cup as well.
Wolvaardt has had an incredible year in ODIs this year where she has played 11 matches and scored 636 runs at an average of 90.85. This was also enough to put her back on top of the Womens ODI rankings. The South African skipper will be looking to continue her great form going forward as well. Wolvaardt has led the South African Women's team from the front and is in the form of her life.

Wolvaardt's peak tournament was the 2022 Women’s World Cup where she emerged as one of the top run scorers. The star opening batter has continued her incredible performance from thereon and at the age of 25 has scored 4242 runs in 100 Women's ODI matches at an average of 49.90 and 2035 runs in 80 T20Is at an average of 35.70. It is safe to say that she is currently one of the best batters in Womens' international cricket.
