Mahmudul Hasan Joy ruled out of Pakistan Tests with groin injury
With the series commencing on August 21, the BCB is yet to announce a replacement for the top-order batter.

While things looked optimistic for Bangladesh following an early arrival to Pakistan courtesy of PCB amid the ongoing political turmoil back home, the visitors were hit with a setback as Mahmudul Hasan Joy has been sidelined for at least three weeks after injuring his right groin.
The 23-year-old will miss out on valauble playing time after looking in good nick in the four-day game against Pakistan Shaheens in Islamabad. The unfortunate turn of events transipired while fielding in one of the games though, after which he couldn't bat in the second innings of the game.
"We have received a mail regarding Mahmudul where it is stated that he sustained injury to his right groin and as a result, he is being rested for three weeks," stated BCB chief physician, Debashish Chowdhury, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who included in the Bangladesh A squad in a bid to get acclimitalised with the conditions, having last played a Test in December 2023, spoke on the finger injury he picked while playing the four-day game. He also provided an update on his recuperattion from it ahead of the series.
"In the second innings (before going to bat), I got hurt in my finger so I did not bat. Hopefully, I will recover very soon and inshallah, I will play in the first Test," mentioned Mushfiqur in a statement provided by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The opening Test is scheduled from August 21 in Rawalpindi while the second Test will be played in Karachi from August 30.
