Punjab, batting first, encountered an early wobble, losing two wickets for a mere 18 runs. Nevertheless, Anmolpreet Singh and their captain Mandeep steadied the ship with a crucial 50-run partnership. Mandeep's departure at 32 runs didn't deter their momentum, as Anmolpreet went on to play a pivotal innings, amassing 110 runs to set a formidable total of 223/4. Baroda, led by Ninad Rathva (47 off 22) and Abhimanyusingh Rajput (61 off 42), stayed in the hunt, despite benefiting from four missed catches by Punjab fielders.
In a nail-biting run chase, the game's fate was sealed during the second-to-last over when Arshdeep Singh delivered a stunning performance. He scalped the key wickets of Krunal Pandya (45 off 32), Shivalik Sharma, and Bhanu Pania, transforming the contest. Arshdeep, a left-arm pacer with only six previous wickets, emerged as the hero, securing a four-wicket haul for a mere 23 runs and ensuring victory for his team.
