Matt Kuhnemann reported for suspect bowling action
This is the first time his action has come into question since his debut in professional cricket in 2017.
Australian left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has been reported for suspect bowling action by the ICC. Kuhnemann was one of top contributors in Australia's 2-0 series win over Sri Lanka, ending up as the highest wicket-taker in the series after returning from an injury. Kuhnemann took 16 wickets at an average of 17.18 in the two games and his performance played a huge role in Australia's success.
Meanwhile, this is the first time his action has come into question since his debut in professional cricket in 2017. Cricket Australia (CA) has also issued a statement concerning Kuhnemann and said that they will closely liaise with the ICC and there will be no further comment made by Kuhnemann or the board until the matter is resolved.
“The Australian team was notified of the match officials' referral following the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle and will support Matt through the process of clearing this matter, Matt has played 124 professional matches since his debut in 2017, including five Test matches and four One-Day Internationals. He has played 55 Big Bash League games since 2018,” a CA spokesperson said.
