Team India got off to a brilliant start to the T20I series against Bangladesh, defeating the side in a recent two-game Test series, and the Men in Blue have managed to continue their form in the shortest format as well. In the first T20I against Bangladesh, India were led by Suryakumar Yadav, and the game saw many new faces in the squad.
One of the most prominent ones was star pacer Mayank Yadav. The 22-year-old rose to fame through his fiery pace in the IPL 2024 for Lucknow Super Giants, and making his India debut, the youngster did not disappoint. Bowling four overs, Mayank Yadav conceded 21 runs and took one wicket, even bowling a maiden over.
Among the many people impressed by his debut was also former India cricketer Parthiv Patel, who took centre stage and highlighted how brilliantly Mayank Yadav handled the pressure.
“The highlight for me is Mayank Yadav. I think the way he made his debut, to play with lot of expectations and reputation is not easy. When you’re expecting 150-plus, if you want to bowl at 150 kmph that is a hard task, just to show no nerves, I think Mayank Yadav has been the highlight for me today,” said Parthiv on Sports18.
