Bangladesh, after whitewashing Pakistan in the two-match Test series, will have their next red-ball assignment against India. The team created history by defeating Pakistan for the first time in the longest format and the skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto has said that the team will carry the momentum to India.

Bangladesh were missing the services of their key pacer, Ebadot Hossain. The 30-year-old had collided with the umpire during Bangladesh’s home series against Afghanistan in July 2023. As a result, he had injured an anterior cruciate ligament. With more than a year passed away from the field, Ebadot is hoping to board India flight at least to get his progress monitored.

"It takes a long time to recover from the kind of injury that I had. It's a difficult time. Don't think it will take too long to recover now. I will play and try to do well," Ebadot said as quoted by The Daily Star.

"I am following the programme that the physios, trainers and fast-bowling coach have given me. I have not been given permission to bowl with hundred percent intensity. I am bowling at 70 to 80 percent now. Maybe I will be taken with the team to India. I will get support there with my bowling. The doctors and physios will be there and will be monitoring me. Maybe that's why they will take me. My fitness test will take place there and then they will make a decision," he added.

However, the sources in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hint that the decision of the pacer accompanying the team for the India tour has not been taken yet. For the unversed, Bangladesh will start their two-match Test series with the first Test scheduled to commence on September 19 in Chennai.
