Mumbai Cricket Association has come up with a structured graduation programme tailored for Mumbai cricketers. The Association also added that this will be a one-of-a-kind and will be done in collaboration with Mumbai University. While announcing about the programme and the collaboration, MCA also revealed that it will start the T20 Mumbai League on May 27, just two days after the IPL 2025 season concludes.
"The programme will emphasize practical training, ensuring that aspiring players receive comprehensive hands-on experience. This initiative aims to equip young cricketers with the necessary skills to excel at professional levels while also providing academic qualifications," the MCA said in a release as quoted by Cricbuzz.
"The tournament is expected to showcase some of the best cricketing talent from Mumbai and beyond, providing a competitive platform for players to display their skills," the MCA said after its Apex Council meeting.

In another remarkable effort from MCA towards the young cricketers, the board is also trying to send some promising young cricketers to the United Kingdom for international exposure.
"MCA will identify and select promising emerging players for a UK tour. The initiative is designed to offer players invaluable experience in international playing conditions and competitive matches against high-calibre opposition. This exposure will play a crucial role in their development and preparation for future challenges at higher levels," the release stated.
"We are committed to the growth and development of cricket in Mumbai. These decisions reflect our dedication to nurturing young talent, enhancing facilities, and providing international exposure to our players. We look forward to seeing these initiatives positively impact the cricketing community," said MCA president Ajinkya Naik.
