MCA to auction two seats where MS Dhoni’s World Cup-winning six landed in 2011

MS Dhoni’s legendary six that finished the game for India against Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final is still talked about by many. With the World Cup 2023 rapidly approaching, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is going to be one of the prime venues where the matches of the tournament will be held.
Ahead of the tournament, the MCA (Maharashtra Cricket Association) announced their decision to auction off the two seats where Dhoni’s World Cup-winning six landed.
On the official MCA website, under the tab of ‘Request for proposal for buyout of Hospitality Package for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches at Wankhede Stadium,’ the association has informed that the two memorial seats will be auctioned.
The MCA will be selling the seats in level 2 of the Sachin Tendulkar stand for INR 3 crore according to the Times of India, with about 140 seats in the seven boxes for INR 2.66 crore for the five games that will be played at the Wankhede Stadium at the ODI World Cup 2023.
Wankhede Stadium to host England-South Africa clash
With the ODI World Cup 2023 approaching, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will be hosting five matches in the tournament. With the first one coming relatively later on. The first game in Mumbai will be a clash between England and South Africa on Saturday, October 21.
Furthermore, team India will be playing its first game in Mumbai on Thursday, November 2, when they take on Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka in the tournament. Notably, the tournament will kick off in Ahmedabad on October 5 with England and New Zealand facing each other in the season opener.
