In a distinctive cricket event hosted by Sanskriti Bachao Manch in Bhopal, cricket enthusiasts witnessed a remarkable display of the sport's spirit. Players clad in traditional 'dhoti' and 'kurta' graced the field, while Sanskrit echoed through the commentary. In the heart of Madhya Pradesh's capital, Bhopal, an extraordinary cricketing affair unfolded under the banner of the Save Culture Forum. This annual event, reminiscent of tradition and sporting zeal, commenced and continued till the 8th of January. The competition witnessed Vedic Brahmins, adorned in the classic attire of 'dhoti-kurta,' engaging in cricketing battles. Adding a unique essence, the event's commentary resonated in the poetic language of Sanskrit.

Chandrasekhar Tiwari, the Chairman of the Culture Save Forum and Organizing Committee, shared insights into the Maharishi Friendship Match Tournament, a yearly spectacle hosted at the Ankur Sports Ground. Welcoming twelve spirited teams, the tournament's inauguration was marked by a ceremonial Deep Ignition and the chanting of Vedic Mantras.

The team to win the tournament avails visit to Ayodhya temple

Tiwari expressed that the victorious team would be honoured with a visit to Ayodhya to pay homage to Ram Lala, a tradition upheld by the organizing committee. Speaking on behalf of the committee, Abhishek Shastri, Ankur Shastri, and Avanish Trivedi emphasized the prominence of Sanskrit, echoing through the event, from commentary to the players' attire - cricket in the classic Dhoti Kurta ensemble.

Reflecting on the tournament's rich legacy, Abhishek Shastri highlighted its widespread acclaim in previous editions, leading to its replication in various locales. Chandrasekhar Tiwari, President of the Culture Save Forum, expressed aspirations to elevate this cultural cricketing gala to a state-level event in the forthcoming years.
The tournament, an ode to Indian heritage, aimed to showcase the union of cricketing skills and cultural reverence, nurturing a legacy that seeks to propagate India's rich traditions and the linguistic beauty of Sanskrit on the cricketing field.
