MI vs RR: Rohit Sharma fans forced to dump posters outside Wankhede stadium

In shocking displays before Mumbai Indians’ game against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, April 1, The posters of former skipper Rohit Sharma were seen being dumped outside the stadium before the side’s clash against Royals. 

In the clip that has been going viral all over social media, fans can be seen leaving their placards and posters outside the venue, with users on X (formerly known as Twitter) claiming that they were not allowed to carry posters in support of Rohit Sharma.

The development came forward after there were reports stating that anyone who is found booing Hardik Pandya would be escorted out of the venue. It is worth noting that ever since Pandya took over the captaincy of MI, he has been welcomed with boos ringing all over the stadiums in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. 

Rajasthan Royals dominate Mumbai Indians early on in Wankhede

Speaking of the game between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, the clash began with Mumbai Indians coming in to bat first after losing the toss. As the five-time champions came out to bat, disaster struck early as star batter Rohit Sharma was sent packing for a golden duck.

Naman Dhir was dismissed for a golden duck as well, with Dewald Brevis falling prey to Trent Boult as well, going out for a duck. Opener Ishan Kishan looked to be in the flow, but the wicketkeeper was dismissed for 16 runs in 14 deliveries. 

By the time the power play was over, Mumbai Indians found themselves on a score of 46 runs with the loss of four wickets. Coming into the game after having registered no wins in their previous games, the subpar start against Royals was something that Mumbai aimed to avoid.
