There have been certain cricketers who have gone on to try and live up to the legacy of their family in the game of cricket. The likes of Stuart Broad and the Marsh brothers are some of the notable names who have gone on to have great careers in the sport.

Another cricketing offspring was seen in the Test series between South Africa U19 and England U19 as former Ashes-winning skipper and commentator Michael Vaughan’s son Archie Vaughan, who is captaining the England U19 side in South Africa and has led from the front in the second unofficial Test. The first match of the series ended in a draw. Vaughan might have not done a lot with the bat in these two matches but has managed to do something incredible in his outing with the red cherry in hand.

Archie managed to overcome his failure with the bat with the ball in the second innings. The England U19 skipper went on to fox the home side with his off-spinners on the third day, which also got his team back in the game. Vaughan, who also represents Somerset in the county, ended with figures of 6/19 which resulted in the Proteas side getting bundled out for only 153. The spell by the young prodigy, changed the complexion of the game, resulting in a win for the English side.

Speaking more of the match, the England U19 team won the game by 10 wickets in the end as they went on to chase down the target of 25 runs. The other hero of the match for the visitors apart from Vaughan was Aaryan Sawant who scored a magnificent century in the first innings of the game to give England the lead. Sawant scored 130 runs off 293 deliveries, which included 12 fours and two sixes. Pacer Eddie Jack was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings, taking three crucial wickets.
