Mitch Marsh encourages Scotland to support Australia during England series
Cameron Green hit 62* as Australia defeated Scotland by six wickets in the third T20I.
Australia defeated Scotland by six wickets to win the third T20I and seal the series 3-0. They have played some sensational cricket throughout the course of the series, and it would give the team some much-needed confidence ahead of their marquee tour of England, starting September 11. Notably, the Mitchell Marsh-led side failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 and there’s pressure on them to do well in the England series, but with multiple seniors out of action, it won’t be an easy task.
Opener Travis Head had a terrific time with the bat in the first game, but he struggled in the second and third T20I of the series. His fellow opening partner Jake Fraser-McGurk failed to impress at all, but there were plenty of positives as well. The bowling unit has done a commendable job and in the third T20I, Cameron Green had an incredible time with the bat, as he smashed 62* runs off 39 balls. Tim David played a crucial cameo and overall, Australia were happy with the effort.

After the completion of the third T20I, captain Marsh noted the positives and stated that the youngsters have done well and players have stepped up at crucial times to seal the series. He also thanked the Scotland board for hosting them and encouraged the supporters to cheer for Australia in the upcoming multi-format white-ball series against England.
“Had a great week, had a lot of opportunities with this young team. Guys stepping up at different moments and playing good all round cricket was good to see. It has been fantastic to play at a venue like this, different challenge and this is a good opportunity to thank Scotland and Scottish cricket. We feel that cricket is very popular out here. Would be nice to have all the Scottish people on board with us when we take on England,” Marsh said at the post-match presentation.
After the completion of the series, Marsh was presented with a special bowl, a Scottish souvenir to hold whiskey and traditionally, everyone takes a sip from that.
