Pakistan team suffered a disappointing defeat against India that has made their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of Champions Trophy 2025. There is a lot of criticism surrounding the performance of the players and the team selection as they are yet to win a game in the tournament where they were considered one of the favourites ahead of the tournament.
Many Pakistan experts have shared their views on the selection of the team and which players should have cut going into the eight-team tournament. One of the experts who have given their opinion is former Pakistan all-rounder and Champions Trophy 2017 winner Mohammad Hafeez who has criticised the selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board making a bold claim that the board is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) instead of Statisticians to select the squad for the Champions Trophy.
"This selection is done with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). They say that they have a statistician; they know how to make teams. We know everything. They pick the players with AI. First, go and search your name on AI," Hafeez said while speaking on a local TV show.
