The Malaysian Cricket Association's President, Mohammed Iqbal Ali Kassim Ali, has resigned from his post. He assumed the charge in 2021.

Kassim Ali captained the Malaysian Cricket team in the past and helped the board to generate better revenue in his tenure than it had in 2021 when he took over. Following his resignation, he spoke with the media and spoke about his tenure.

"Cricket is a gentleman's game, built on a bedrock of integrity, sportsmanship, and rules known to the millions who play this sport globally," Ali said. He said to have maintained integrity and added that his love and commitment for the game had not diminished a bit," he said in a statement.

"By stepping down today, I maintain my integrity. My love for the game has not diminished, nor has my commitment to see our flag raised on the world stage by those who come from this land," Ali added.

Under Ali's leadership, the MCA Executive Committee was able to scale new heights, which helped the Association's revenue a lot after the pandemic.

Ali claimed his tenure to be the most successful in the history of the MCA, as he pointed out that the Malaysian National teams (both Men's and Women's) were placed among some of the highest-ranked teams in the world. Malaysia achieved 24th rank in the world when the former Malaysian captain was in power.

Ali claimed MCA's revenue in 2021 was RM4 million, which increased to over four times, RM17 million, by the end of his tenure. Ali hinted at him potentially being forced out of power due to the internal conflicts.

"This year, the MCA hit a revenue of over RM17 million; when I took over, it was merely RM4 million per year. I cannot speak for those who have not resigned today – it will be for them to address in their conscience, and I will let history judge their actions," Ali added in his statement.
