"I'm absolutely thrilled to see some of the biggest names in world cricket signing up for the Canada Super 60! Their involvement will elevate the competition and provide invaluable exposure to Canadian players, fostering a sense of community and excitement among fans locally and globally," said former Scotland captain and assistant tournament Director Kyle Coetzer.
According to organisers, the draft dates will be revealed in the coming days. The inaugural season for both the men's and women's competitions is set to commence in July.
Canada already has a well-established T20 cricket league - Global T20 Canada. The league had its inaugural season in 2018 with six teams competing. There have been three more editions of the tournament in 2019, 2023, and 2024.
Last year, Marcus Stoinis, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, David Warner, Sunil Narine, and Mohammad Amir were some of the high-profile cricketers who featured in the T20 extravaganza. Now, the T10 tournament will hope to replicate similar success.
