Aarka Sports' CEO, Mihir Diwakar, has refuted allegations of wrongdoing after being accused of cheating former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni. Reports surfaced about a legal dispute between Diwakar, his partner, and Dhoni, alleging a breach of the contract which resulted in a purported financial misappropriation of INR 15 crores. However, on Sunday, January 7, Diwakar released a statement and dismissed the accusations as 'baseless.'
He countered, suggesting that it was Dhoni who caused him financial losses and tarnished his reputation in the sports community. Diwakar claimed that in 2017, the wicketkeeper-batter had given authorization for a joint venture that involved establishing global cricket academies, a partnership that remains unrevoked. Alleging disrespect from Dhoni, Diwakar aims to defend his position amidst the legal dispute and denies any fraudulent behaviour in the ongoing controversy.
"With utmost pain & consternation, I wish to clarify that the story planted in electronic and print media about me cheating MSD is utterly baseless. This has been done with the sole purpose of defaming me and to destroy my reputation in society, especially my reputation in sports fraternity to inflict financial losses to me," Mihir wrote on 'X'.

MS Dhoni filed ₹15-cr cheating case on me to avoid paying ₹5-crore he owes me: Mihir Diwakar:
Mihir Diwakar from Aarka Sports has responded to accusations made by a former India captain, denying any involvement in or prior knowledge of the alleged 15 crore rupee fraud. Expressing astonishment at the allegations, Diwakar clarified that he was not informed about the issue beforehand. Now, he has come out in his defence and has refuted the claims. Diwakar darted back by saying that to avoid paying what Dhoni owes him, instead he went ahead and slapped a legal case on him.
"I am even more surprised than all of you. The way these things have emerged in the media, nobody informed me beforehand about this. I came to know through the media that I have been accused of cheating involving 15 crore rupees. If I were to ask for 5 crores from you, and you lack the willingness to provide it, then it's understandable that you might claim 15 crores from me just to silence me," he continued.
"MS Dhoni filed ₹15-cr cheating case on me to avoid paying ₹5 cr he owes me," Diwakar further iterated.
Besides, Mihir Diwakar countered Dhoni's claim, stating he doesn't owe money and asserted instead that Dhoni owes him direct payments from certain academies. Additionally, he alleged Almora-born cricketer's involvement in deceiving a business entity, Neuglobal Upajvardhak India Limited. Diwakar accused Dhoni's team of levying false accusations against him, intensifying the dispute between the two parties.
