MS Dhoni is termed as ‘Captain Cool’ widely, as the cricketer remains calm under pressure situations. He has led the Indian team for almost a decade and was the captain of Chennai Super Kings in IPL for 14 years. Former India cricketer, Subramaniam Badrinath, who was also a key player in CSK, revealed the unseen aspect of Dhoni. The veteran noted that, during a game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Dhoni was angry over the sudden batting collapse.

S Badrinath recalled the game where CSK were chasing around 110 runs and the batters played some outrageous shots to put the team in a losing position. Moreover, Badrinath himself admitted that he got dismissed by Anil Kumble playing a lap shot. He described that the wicketkeeper-batter’s frustration was palpable and he kicked the water bottle in response.

"In this match against RCB in Chennai, we were chasing 110 odd. We lost wickets in a hurry, and we ended up losing the match. It was one of those matches where we couldn’t get 110 against RCB in Chepauk," Badrinath said as quoted by India Today.

"I got out to a lap shot against Anil Kumble. I got myself LBW. He was coming inside the dressing room (MS Dhoni) and I was standing right there and there was a small water bottle in front of me and MS just kicked it out of the park, and I was oh my god! We were all trying to avoid eye contact with him in that dressing room," he added.

The former India captain has been part of the CSK since its inception. The franchise had not thought of any other captain until 2024 when the 43-year-old decided to step down from the captaincy. The baton was handed over to young Ruturaj Gaikwad and the team could not reach the playoffs. However, the India legend has left an indelible mark on the league itself winning the coveted title for the team five times.
