The India vs New Zealand fixture of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 saw a bizarre stoppage on Sunday, October 22 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. During the second innings of the match, intense fog spread all over the stadium in the 15th over of the innings forcing the umpire to stop the play.

However, the conditions improved quickly and the play was resumed only to be stopped again in the very next over. The low-hanging clouds/mist engulfed the entire stadium again reducing the visibility in the field. As a result, the play had to be stopped with India on 100/2 after 15.4 overs.

He was well supported by Ravindra Jadeja who scored 39* (44) to guide India to a four-wicket win.

Earlier in the innings, Captain Rohit Sharma once again got their team off to a sensational start by scoring 46 (40) smashing four fours and four sixes in his innings. Courtesy of their remarkable peformances, the Men in Blue managed to register their fifth consecutive win of the tournament and climbed to the top of the points table.
