Former Mumbai Indians (MI) player Ambati Rayudu has given his insights on the team's performance in IPL 2025 so far and the leadership of Hardik Pandya. Like every season, it has not been a good start for the Mumbai Indians as they have lost their first two games disappointingly.
They their season opener to Chennai Super Kings by four wickets in Chennai while they lost their second game to Gujarat Titans by 36 runs in Ahmedabad. Despite the poor start, Rayudu has backed the team to come good.

Hardik has already proven himself as a leader with Gujarat Titans: Ambati Rayudu
The six-time IPL champions also talked about certain changes in the team combination which he believes must be made by the team in their coming games to gain success in the tournament. He also reflected on Pandya's struggle in the last season and appreciated the all-rounder for overcoming those hard times. Rayudu said that he believes that Hardik could be successful as a leader for the five-time champions this season.
"Maybe sending Naman Dhir at No. 3 and pushing Hardik Pandya up the order could strengthen the batting line-up," he said. "As for Hardik, he has already proven himself as a leader with Gujarat Titans, and I don’t think any other Indian cricketer has faced a tougher phase than he has. Despite that, he has shown incredible mental strength, winning crucial ICC tournaments for India. Now, leading Mumbai Indians is another testament to his resilience. I’m sure he and the team will bounce back strongly."
Speaking of the Mumbai Indians, they will play Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 31 in their first home game of the season.
