Star India batter KL Rahul has recently come forward and talked about his mindset, his cricket journey, and what he needs to make a comeback into India’s T20I squad. KL Rahul will feature for India soon as the side is gearing up for the latest edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

India will kick off the series by taking on Australia in the first Test of the series in Perth from November 22. However, with Rahul set to make an appearance for India once more, there have been many experts criticising his form in recent times.

However, Rahul recently came forward and talked about his mindset and shared his thoughts on how he approaches a game, emphasising how much of a team sport cricket is.

"All of us as players want to play with freedom, and everyone would think that the way I batted, I'm enjoying playing that. But like I said, my thought process and motivation have always been team first. It doesn't matter what I want to do or what my natural game is. We play a team sport. If I played tennis, it would be different; I could stick to saying, 'This is my natural game.' But in a team sport, it's very different. Each game, you'll have a different role and responsibility given to you to find a way to deliver for the team,” Rahul said on Star Sports' special show, ‘KL Rahul – Unplugged’.

My aim is to obviously get back into the T20 team: Rahul

Furthermore, KL Rahul also highlighted his aspirations of making a comeback into India’s T20I squad. It is worth noting that Rahul last played a T20I game for India against England in November 2022, and he stated that he is looking forward to the IPL to make a strong case for his comeback.

"I haven't changed over the years. I want to still play for India in all three formats and have done that for many years. I've been out of the T20 team for a while, and I know where I stand as a player and what I need to do to get back. So, I look forward to this IPL season to give me that platform to enjoy my cricket and play the way I want to,” Rahul added.
