Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik feels that Nathan Lyon will have a lot of pressure on him as he is a key bowler for Australia in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Nathan Lyon has had a great career so far and has already picked up 460 Test wickets and would be gunning for more in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. The sub-continent pitches will suit the off-spinner and would be hoping to put the Indian batters in a lot of trouble. He was one of the key bowler for Australia, the last time 2017.

Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik expressed about the pressure on Nathan Lyon as Australia's main bowler. He said, "They have a world-class off-spinner in Lyon. You also must understand that he will be under a lot of pressure, knowing that he will be the key bowler for Australia to steer the ship in which direction it needs to go. One bad session from his part could mean the Test match is moving in a direction against Australia and that's a lot of pressure to handle."

Karthik also spoke about Shreyas Iyer's dominance against Nathan Lyon in a tour game in 2017. He added, "Shreyas Iyer literally smacked him in a side game in CCI. When the pressure is there, Lyon will need to stand up. A lot of his temperament and his testament will come to the fore. Even though India hasn't been playing off-spin well, these matches are going to be in India and we have to trust our ability to play spin, which has been part of our heritage and lineage over a period of time."

For the Test series against India, Australia have opted for four spinners, but only Nathan Lyon is a seasoned veteran for the visitors as Mitchell Swepson, Ashton Agar, and Todd Murphy do not have a strong track record in Test cricket.
