Nepal make two changes in ICC Men’s CWC League 2 squad

Arjun Saud and Rijan Dhakal have been replaced by Dev Khanal and Anil Shah.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced two changes in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 squad, with Arjun Saud and Rijan Dhakal, who were part of the initial squad for the Canada series, have been replaced by Dev Khanal and Anil Shah.

Notably, Khanal showcased commendable performances with the bat against Canada, showing at his potential to contribute at the highest level. Meanwhile, Shah's standout performances, particularly his unbeaten knock of 112 runs, solidified his case for inclusion in the revamped squad. 

The ICC Men’s CWC League 2 series is scheduled to take place from February 15 to 25 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, where Nepal locking horns with Namibia and the Netherlands. With a renewed lineup, Nepal would aim to leverage their strengths and address any weaknesses encountered during previous encounters. 

The Netherlands and hosts Nepal featuring in the first of 24 tri-series that will take four teams to within one step of qualifying for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 to be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Canada, Oman, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America are the other teams in the eight-team league that will comprise 144 matches in the lead up to the World Cup Qualifier.
