Ngidi, Nortje return as South Africa announce Champions Trophy 2025 squad
Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa in the Champions Trophy 2025.
The coveted Champions Trophy 2025 is looming on the horizon, Cricket South Africa (CSA) recently came forward and announced their 15-member squad for the marquee tournament. With a good showing in the ODI World Cup 2023, a ticket to the WTC final, and finalists in the T20 World Cup 2024, the Proteas have been in exceptional form across formats.
The side will hope to replicate the same form but go all the way as the Champions Trophy approaches. It is worth noting that South Africa will be led by Temba Bavuma in the tournament with the likes of Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, and many other stars in the lineup. Taking to social media, South Africa made the announcement of their squad for the tournament.
“White-ball head coach Rob Walter has today announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be played in Pakistan from 19 February to 09 March. One-Day International Captain Temba Bavuma will lead the full-strength squad, which includes 10 players who competed in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, where South Africa reached the semi-finals,” CSA captioned the post.
“Batters Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, and Tristan Stubbs, along with all-rounder Wiaan Mulder, have been selected for their first senior 50-over ICC tournament,” the post added.

With the Champions Trophy set to be held in Pakistan and in the UAE from February 19, South Africa will kick off their campaign with a clash against Afghanistan. Both sides will lock horns at the National Stadium in Karachi, and the side will hope to get off to an emphatic start.
