Afghanistan (AFG) and Netherlands (NED) will lock horns in the 34th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, on November 3 (Friday). Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are currently sitting in sixth and eighth positions in the points tally of the marquee event.
The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side are coming into the contest after two consecutive wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka, respectively. In their game against the Kusal Mendis-led side in Pune, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field first. Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed a four-wicket haul as Afghanistan restricted Sri Lanka to a below-par 241 runs. Later Rahmat Shah, Shahidi, and Azmatullah Omarzai all scored half-centuries to help Afghanistan win the game by seven wickets.
The Netherlands, on the other hand, defeated Bangladesh in their previous game. In terms of the game, the Netherlands posted 229 runs after winning the toss and batting first. Later, Paul van Meekeren picked up four wickets to restrict Shakib Al Hasan and Co. to 142 in 42.2 overs.
