ODI World Cup 2023: CAB leaving no stone unturned to celebrate Virat Kohli's birthday in grand fashion during IND vs SA clash
Kohli will be celebrating his 35th birthday on November 05, 2023 as India take on South Africa in their eighth league fixture.
Star India batter Virat Kohli has been in sensational form in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as he’s the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament so far with 354 runs to his name. Kohli will be celebrating his 35th birthday on November 05, 2023 as India take on South Africa in their eighth league fixture at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
To make the day even more special for India’s run machine, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has made special arrangements for the star batter. CAB President Snehasish Ganguly has revealed that a special cake has been prepared for Kohli and a grand fireworks show will also be held during the mid-innings interval to celebrate the big day of the former India captain.

“We have ordered a cake for Virat, and the design will be something everyone identifies with Virat Kohli. I am not sharing the pictures yet, for let that be a surprise. Also, we plan to host a fireworks show during the mid-innings interval for Virat and the crowd. It will be our way of celebrating his birthday, and our way of saying that the entire Kolkata crowd are part of the celebrations. We are sure of a full house and everyone in the stands is a Virat fan. It is a gesture on behalf of all of them,” Snehasish Ganguly was quoted as saying by RevSportz.
Furthermore, the CAB will also present a special gift to the Delhi-born batter, the details of which will be known in the coming days. Around 70,000 Kohli masks will also be distributed to the spectators while a laser show has been also arranged.
Kohli one hundred away from levelling Sachin Tendulkar's record
Notably, Kohli is just one hundred away from levelling Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most hundreds in ODI cricket (49) as he recently registered his 48th hundred in the format against Bangladesh in Pune. The star batter will look to give the perfect return gift to his fans on his special day by levelling the world record of his idol and helping India finish on top of the points table by beating the Proteas.
