ODI World Cup 2023: Virat Kohli travels in economy class after India's thumping win over South Africa
Kohli scored 101* runs against South Africa as India defeated them by 243 runs.
Ace Indian batter made headlines recently after his sensational century against South Africa in game 37 of the ODI World Cup 2023. Equalling the record of the great Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli hit his 49th ODI ton against the Proteas as India registered a 243-run victory to maintain their position at the top of the table.
However, after his heroics against the in-form Proteas, the 35-year-old once again caught the attention of the fans after he was seen catching a flight to Bangalore in economy class. The clip of the moment has been doing the rounds all over social media.
India take on Netherlands in last league game
Speaking of the India-South Africa clash, it was Kohli who lit the stage on fire when the Indian team took on South Africa. Both sides faced each other at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and coming in to bat first, it was Kohli who was the star for the Men in Blue, scoring 101* runs in 121 deliveries.
He built a solid partnership with Shreyas Iyer and helped the side post a big total on the board before Ravindra Jadeja's five-for helped India bundle South Africa out for a paltry 83 to win the match by a massive margin of 243 runs.
After thumping South Africa in dominant fashion, the Indian team maintained their position at the top of the table of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue have 16 points in eight games and sit comfortably at the top of the table as the only unbeaten side in the tournament, with eight wins.
After their victory against the Proteas, India will be going up against the Netherlands in their next and final game in the league stage. Both sides will face off in the 45th game of the tournament on Sunday, November 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
