The second day of the warm-up games of the World Cup 2023 was quite a disappointing one as both the games were marred by rain.

Match 4: India vs England

The first match of the day scheduled between India and England in Guwahati was washed out without a single ball being bowled. (India won the toss and opted to bat)

Match 5: Australia vs Netherlands

The second game of the day was scheduled between Australia and Netherlands in Thiruvanathapuram was also affected by rain and was significantly shortened, with the contest being reduced to 23 overs per side.

Australia came in to bat first after winning the toss as Steve Smith opened scored 55 off 42. Furthermore, Cameron Green added 34 runs to the board as Australia posted 166/7 in their allotted 23 overs.

Aiming to chase the target, the Netherlands got off to a horrid start as the top-order failed to go big after the batters were dismissed cheaply. Max O'Dowd, Wesley Barresi, and Bas de Leede were sent packing for ducks courtesy of Mitchell Starc's hat-trick.
