India’s latest batting sensation Rinku Singh has made a name for himself for finishing matches for his teams time and again from precarious situations. The 26-year-old got into the limelight after scripting an improbable win for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by smashing five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal in IPL 2023. His stupendous run in the T20 extravaganza, also earned him a national call-up as he made his international debut in a T20I against Ireland in August 2018.

The southpaw has also shined in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia where he’s played cameos of 22* (14) and 31* (9) in the first and second T20Is for India. The swashbuckling batter has also earned praise from his KKR teammate Andre Russell who recently revealed that he’s watching the India vs Australia series to watch Rinku Singh bat.

"I've been watching the games (India vs Australia T20Is) and if I miss something, I tune into the highlights and it's mostly for Rinku. I'm not surprised by what Rinku is doing. He joined KKR a few years ago. And every time he batted in practice games or in the nets, we saw the potential. He would hit those big shots.," Russell was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Further speaking ahead, Russell lauded Rinku for grabbing opportunities at both IPL and international level and said that he will be an even better player in the years to come.

“But getting that opportunity and doing it on the big stage, doing it IPL, finishing games after games, it gives him the confidence that every player desires. He has been a tremendous team man. It's heartening to someone so young, who has so much passion for the game, doing so well in wearing the blue. And I think he will improve further and become an even better player as the years go by," he added.
