Sunrisers Hyderabad wrote history when the side faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, April 15. After breaking the record for the highest-ever total in IPL history earlier against Mumbai Indians, Hyderabad did it again by posting a total of 287 runs against RCB.
It was all thanks to the brilliant knocks by Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, Abdul Samad, and Aiden Markram that SRH were able to post such a humongous total onto the scoreboard.
After the clash, centurion Travis Head took centre stage and revealed that the next target for the side would be to break the 300-run barrier in the IPL. He opined that the side will aim to put their foot down in the upcoming matches, as they have some much-needed strength in the middle order.
"Our total needs a three in front of it; does it now? We’ve got guys like Klaasen, Abdul Samad, and Nitish (Kumar Reddy)... We’ve got some power through the middle, and we want to keep just putting the foot down as much as we can," Head was quoted as saying by SportStar.
“We know that’s not always guaranteed, but at the moment, I think we’re setting it up really well in each game and getting to the score that we need,” he added.
SRH stay in the run for playoff qualification
Speaking of SRH, the side has put in some brilliant performances in the ongoing season of the IPL (Indian Premier League). Having played six games in the tournament so far, Hyderabad has managed to win games in the season so far and have lost just two games.
Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, the side has flourished and has hugely improved since their forgettable season in 2023. They would be aiming to continue their performances and make it to the playoffs of the tournament as well.
