The inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2024) has offered some enterprising cricket in the initial stages itself and the action will only get more and more intense as the tournament progresses. Navdeep Saini, who is showcasing his skills in the franchise tournament for West Delhi Lions, recently spoke about the importance of discipline and fitness for fast bowlers.

The 31-year-old burst onto the scene with his ability to clock speeds in excess of 145 kph at will and played two Tests, eight ODIs, and 11 T20Is. However, he somehow lost his way and has been out of the Indian setup since July 2021. Saini, however, is focused on doing well in DPL and after the Lions won their first game, the right-arm pacer has switched his focus to the clash against Purani Dilli 6 at the iconic Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, August 21.

"Our first match went really well and all things happened according to our plan. Everybody was supporting each other during the game, it was the first instance for all of us to play together and we did it really well. As a team when you win the first match it really helps the team going forward," Saini told West Delhi Lions.

"We have prepared very well for today's game. Our process has been the same, whatever we did before the first match, we have followed the same for today's game also. Our practice has been really good," he added.
