As per the freshest development, Pakistan's Mir Hamza has been released from the squad so as to work on his recovery from a niggle in right glute. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the news on the first day of the third and final Test of the series between Pakistan and England in Rawalpindi, as per Cricbuzz.

Hamza was seen being actively involved in resistance band workouts a couple of days ahead of the third Test with the side's physiotherapist, and did not bowl or train in any of his side's sessions prior to the ongoing game. Notably, the 32-year-old was in the 16-member roster for the first two Tests in Multan, but failed to make it to the XI on both occasions.

He has scalped 12 wickets in as many innings at an average of 42.08 and a strike rate of 83.5 with a solitaty four-wicket haul to his name. He would be hoping for a speedy recovery and get back into the playing arena soon.

The first Test saw Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah play as the frontline pacers. Aamer Jamal was fielded as the bowling all-rounder. However, after being thumped in that game, the first two names were dropped with specialist spinners, Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, entering the fray in addition to leg-spinner, Zahid Mahmood. With Jamal being the better batter out of the two as showcased during his nascent Test career up until now, he was given the nod over Hamza to feature in the XI for the series.
