Pakistan pacer Aamir Jamal came under scrutiny when it was found out that he, alongside several other players in the side, violated the rules and regulations set by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The promising pacer was slapped with a hefty fine of PKR 1.4 million, and here is the real reason for it.
The number '804' that he wrote on his Test cap appears to have been the cause of this hefty charge; it refers to the now-incarcerated former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan. A TV report claims that the PCB penalised several Pakistani players for breaking the regulations, with Jamal receiving the harshest penalty.

Since 804 is thought to be the badge number of imprisoned Imran Khan, and Jamal intended to demonstrate support for him, he was punished for writing it. This was a major factor in Jamal's exclusion from the Champions Trophy team as well, as the board believed politics had no place in cricket.
Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, and Abdullah Shafique, among others, were fined PKR 5,00,000 for arriving late during Pakistan's tour of Australia last year. Additionally, players including Usman Khan, Abbas Afridi, and Sufiyan Muqeem were fined $200 apiece for arriving late to the South Africa trip, which ended earlier this year.
