The fifth and final Test match between Australia and India is scheduled to be held at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), starting Friday, January 03. A win in this all-important game will decide the fate of the Indian team, as they not only get to draw the series 2-2, but also keep their WTC 2025 Final qualification chances intact. And one man, who will be carrying the majority of India's hopes in the SCG encounter, will be star pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Meanwhile, Australia skipper Pat Cummins was recently asked on their strategy to deal with Bumrah's brilliance with the ball. To this, Cummins shared a funny response, hoping that by the time he comes to bat, Bumrah will be tired, making it easy for him to tackle the speedster, who is also the leading wicket-taker of the series currently.

“Bumrah is bowling well at the moment. He is always tough, Hopefully, by the time I come in, late in the day, he has bowled quite a bit, which might make it a bit easier for me. But he is bowling well. I’ve faced him quite a bit across the world in different formats, and he always poses a challenge," said Pat Cummins during the pre-match press conference on Thursday, January 02.

“Last game, it helped as I was in the non-striker's end. That certainly helped [laugh]," he added.

Speaking of the head-to-head records of the teams at the SCG, a total of 13 encounters have been witnessed at the venue. Out of these, a staggering seven games have resulted in a draw, while the hosts have had the upper hand with five wins, while India have won just one game, which came in 1978.
