Match 58 of IPL 2024 between the Punjab Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be the second match of this season's edition to be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. The other home of PBKS in IPL 2024 is the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, which was established in 2021, where PBKS played five games this season, unfortunately winning only their curtain-raiser against the Delhi Capitals.
With the tournament entering its business end and the race for the playoffs tightens, both the teams who're sitting in seventh and eighth place on eight points, respectively, have to critically make sure that they end up on the winning side, failing which they will technically be out of contention to go through. Due to the rain in Dharamsala, the game between PBKS and RCB was halted. After 10 overs, RCB are 119/3.
However, it is worth mentioning that the venue in Dharamsala witnessed spells of showers ahead of the fixture. With the all-important clash between PBKS and RCB scheduled to occur in the evening of 9th May, we take a look at further intricacies pertaining to potential inclement weather hindering proceedings.
