People should stop comparing Babar Azam to Virat Kohli, Babar is a big zero as captain: Danish Kaneria
"Babar Azam is a big zero as captain. He doesn't deserve to lead the team. He is not capable of leading the team, especially when it comes to Test cricket," Kaneria said.
Danish Kaneria has said that people should stop comparing Babar Azam to Virat Kohli. He also said that that Babar has zero captaincy skills. Kaneria’s remarks came after Pakistan’s humiliating eight-wicket defeat against England in the third and final Test in Karachi.
Kaneria added that there is no player in Pakistan who can be compared with Kohli and India skipper Rohit Sharma. He reckoned that Pakistan players fail to produce desired results when the time comes to execute their plans into actions.
When you ask them to produce results, they'll be zero: Danish Kaneria
"People should stop comparing Babar Azam to Virat Kohli. The likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are very big players. Pakistan have nobody in their team who can be compared to them. If you make them talk, they will be a king. When you ask them to produce results, they'll be zero," Kaneria said while speaking on his YouTube channel.
"Babar Azam is a big zero as captain. He doesn't deserve to lead the team. He is not capable of leading the team, especially when it comes to Test cricket. He had a good chance of learning captaincy by looking at Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum during the series. Or, he could have kept his ego aside and asked Sarfaraz Ahmed how to captain," he added.
Pakistan have now suffered two successive home Test series losses this year as they were beaten 0-1 by the Pat Cummins-led Australia in March before the 0-3 whitewash against England. Pakistan are already out of contention for the WTC final race but would be hoping to avoid another red-ball humiliation at home as they gear up to host New Zealand in a two-match Test series starting December 26.
